My Priorities

Efficiency from Within
Utilize available technology to update current office systems and reporting methods, for faster processing, which results in better customer service and experiences for our citizens and business owners. This will include a major effort to streamline the business licensing process.

Remove Barriers for the Everyday Customers and Business Owners
Make more information readily available online that will assist in filing documents and forms, to include sample sheets and templates. Often times new business owners get discouraged and are confused with what documents are required. My goals will be to ease the guesswork and remove barriers to filing.

Fair Accountability in Assessments and Administration
My office will treat every taxpayer and business owner fairly and provide consistent and respectful customer service to our citizens. This includes holding our office and citizens accountable when administering our assessments.

Community Engagement and Education
I will work with community and city partners to educate citizens and business owners on proper filing procedures and available supportive processes to make business ownership in Hampton more attractive. This includes being active and visible in all of communities. With information and knowledge, our citizens and taxpayers can avoid defaults and missed filings, which will result in increasing revenue to support our city.

Advocate for Fair Tax Laws
Utilize my legal background to advocate for more balanced tax laws at the local and state level. This includes placing a special emphasis on our Senior Citizens, Special Needs, and Disabled populations.
